The presence of a dimple has been associated with beauty since ancient times. It can be in different parts of the body, but the most common place is on the cheeks. Today, creating a dimple for aesthetic purposes is a very popular procedure.
The location of the dimple to be created is determined during the examination with the patient who wants to have a dimple aesthetic. Under local anesthesia, the dimple is created immediately with small incisions made inside the mouth and stitches. The dimple is more visible in the first weeks, but then it becomes normal. Not opening the mouth too much in the first few days, not consuming hard foods, and keeping the inside of the mouth clean both speeds up the healing and makes the procedure more permanent.
